Daniel Church
I'm one of the owners of Hastings Mechanical, focused on the hydronic, geothermal, and radiant side of what we do — the systems that quietly heat and cool the homes we work on.
I took the long way into this trade. I studied geology and physics, taught English abroad, and tried a handful of careers before a lifelong friend got me a job in HVAC. I ended up falling in love with it — the complexity, the details, the science, the art, and the people. I spent the next decade working alongside Sean and Elliott, learning the craft we've now built our company around.
What keeps me in it is simple. The problems are genuinely interesting, there's no shortage of ways to learn and improve, and there's real payoff in handing over a system that just makes a home comfortable to live in without anyone having to think about it.
I'm proud of the team we've built. Every one of our guys brings something different to the job, and together I think we're able to offer our customers something pretty special.
Elliott Hastings
Born and raised in Bellevue, I grew up around the HVAC industry through my dad’s business and developed a passion for the trade early on. I started out working in the warehouse before moving into service while attending CITC trade school. From there, I transitioned into new construction, where I primarily focused on finishing projects and commissioning systems. Over the course of my field career, I successfully commissioned more than 400 HVAC systems while building a strong reputation for quality workmanship, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
As my experience grew, I moved into a project management role where I now combine hands-on field knowledge with coordination, planning, and leadership skills to help projects run efficiently from start to finish. I take pride in delivering high-quality mechanical systems, maintaining strong communication with customers and crews, and continuing to grow within an industry that has been a part of my life from the beginning.

With over 10 years of experience in the HVAC industry, I have dedicated my career to delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. I began my career as an apprentice and quickly advanced to a lead installer within two years through hard work, leadership, and a strong understanding of HVAC systems. After six years in the field, I transitioned into project management, overseeing complex residential projects and coordinating high-level installations.
Today, I am proud to be one of the owners of Hastings Mechanical, a company built on integrity, craftsmanship, and professionalism. Throughout my career, I have worked on some of the most high-end custom home projects in Washington State, gaining extensive experience with advanced HVAC systems and custom applications.
I take customer service very seriously and believe that clear communication, reliability, and attention to detail are just as important as technical expertise. My goal is to ensure every project is completed to the highest standard while building lasting relationships with clients, builders, and industry partners.

I began my HVAC career in the shop as a parts runner before moving into an apprenticeship and quickly advancing into a lead role in residential retrofit installations. A big part of my decision to join the trade came from looking up to my older brother, whose influence inspired me to pursue a career in the industry.
I take a lot of pride in the work I do and genuinely enjoy the people I work alongside every day. What motivates me most, though, is seeing happy customers at the end of a project and knowing I delivered quality work they can trust. I hold my EPA certification, completed formal HVAC schooling, and continue to grow my knowledge through ongoing training, certifications, and licensing as I advance in the trade.

I started my career in HVAC as an apprentice and worked my way up to a full-time lead installer within my first two years. From the beginning, I’ve taken pride in learning the trade the right way, paying attention to detail, and pushing myself to continually improve both technically and professionally.
Most of my experience has been in the new construction field working on high-end custom homes, specializing in complex forced air systems, HVAC controls, and natural gas piping. I enjoy the challenge that comes with custom projects and take pride in building systems that are not only efficient and reliable, but cleanly installed and built to last.
Alongside working and learning in the field, I’ve earned my qualifications through L&I, the EPA, and additional training programs throughout the course of my career. Continuing to expand my knowledge and stay current with industry standards and evolving technology is something I take seriously and genuinely enjoy.
What I enjoy most about this industry is the relationships I’ve built along the way. I value working closely with homeowners, contractors, and other trades throughout a project and believe communication and trust are just as important as the quality of the installation itself. I take pride in being someone people can rely on — whether it’s solving problems in the field, coordinating with a builder, or making sure a homeowner feels confident in the work being done.
I’m very happy and excited to be a part of Hastings Mechanical, working alongside a team of highly qualified people who are not only coworkers, but friends and family as well. Having the opportunity to continue my career with many of the same people I’ve worked with throughout most of my time in the industry makes it even more meaningful. Being surrounded by a team that shares the same values of quality workmanship, professionalism, and teamwork is something I truly appreciate.
I’m passionate about continuing to grow in the HVAC industry, staying current with new technologies and best practices, and delivering high-quality work that reflects both craftsmanship and professionalism.

I got my start in HVAC the old-school way—working alongside my dad during high school, taking on boiler jobs and learning the trade from the ground up. That hands-on foundation set the tone for everything that followed.
After graduating, I joined a plumbing and heating company where I pushed myself hard, quickly working my way into a full installer role. During a transition between companies, I doubled down on my education—attending trade school and earning my EPA certification and electrical license.
My career took off in the custom residential world, where I worked on large-scale, high-end homes with complex mechanical systems. That’s where I sharpened my skillset and stepped into leadership, eventually becoming a lead installer responsible for major construction projects.
After nearly a decade in installation, I shifted into commercial and industrial service. I worked on high-rise buildings and central energy plants—the systems that keep entire buildings alive. That experience gave me a deeper understanding of HVAC at every level, from precision installs to critical system diagnostics.
Today, I’ve come full circle back to residential work as a Service Manager. I bring a broad, real-world perspective from every corner of the trade—install, service, residential, and industrial.
I’m proud to be part of a team that holds the line on quality and integrity. We don’t cut corners, and we don’t settle. Our goal is simple: deliver the highest level of craftsmanship and service, and raise the standard for what HVAC should be.

Four years as a licensed plumber taught me the craft. Hydronic heating changed my life.
I didn't grow up dreaming of boilers and radiant systems. I found them — and when I did, something clicked. The way water moves through a building, carries heat silently to every corner, the physics, the precision — it pulled me in like nothing else had. I'd never even touched a boiler before that moment, but I knew. This was it.
I left plumbing behind and followed that instinct straight into HVAC. No safety net. No backup plan. Just the conviction that I'd found the work I was meant to do.
Now I specialize in hydronics radiant floors, geothermal systems, boilers, chilled beams. The complex stuff that most techs shy away from. Because when you're doing what you were called to do, you don't take the easy path. You take the right.
